Day One

Okay the day started out fine. I ate an Activia yogurt for breakfast and a glass of V-8 fusion in Pomegranate/Blueberry. I love this stuff. One serving of veggies and one serving of fruit in one 8 oz glass. Of course I went back to bed after the kids got on the bus. I had a headache which I should probably go off track really quick and explain a couple of things.

I take a medication for my heart that is a beta blocker. It's primarily used for high blood pressure (my husband takes the same med for his blood pressure) and since I don't have blood pressure problems, it makes me really, really tired. Like all-the-time-I-can't-function-and-fall-asleep-at-the-kitchen-table-doing-something tired. It's to the point where I'm almost afraid to drive. Fortunately, I have a cardiology appt. on Thursday and I'm going to talk to the doc to see if she can change my med or something. Incidently I have also gained about 20 pounds since I've started taking this med which leads me to believe it's screwing with my metabolism big time. These nice headaches, which my doctor tells me is an after affect of my blood pressure going cuckoo at certain times of the day, is another nice little side affect.

Anyway, I woke up and then went and walked one mile. I know I'm supposed to walk an hour but I had to work last night so I got plenty walking done there, trust me. ( I wait tables four times a week) Then I went home and fixed myself a fabulous lunch of a big salad with lite caesar vinegrette (2tblsp) with lettuce, carrots, green peppers, mushrooms, and red onions (all organic). I also had a 3 oz Tilapia filet which I sauteed in a little olive oil and lots of garlic. I also threw in 2 handfuls of frozen peas and ate that over about a half a cup of basmati rice.

Alittle side note here: I hate brown rice. I think it tastes like cardboard. I also feel the same way about whole wheat pasta. There is nothing wrong with white rice or white pasta. You just can't eat 6 servings in one meal. Learn what 1 serving is and stick to that.

Now normally this would have been my big meal of the day and the rest of the night at work I would have just snacked on things I bring to work. Of course I forgot so about 9 o'clock I was starving. Not smart, I know but I have never claimed to have a brain. So I ordered a Beef and Broccoli and gave half of the beef away. So about 5 oz of beef and about a cup of broccoli, and a half a cup of rice was my dinner. The sauce was not a great diet thing because of the sugar but the dish has lots of ginger and garlic which both increase metabolism and ginger cures just about everything according to Chinese Medicine so I figured it balanced out. Besides, I only ate half the dish and I usually eat the whole thing.

Then I got home and ruined the whole effect by eating two big handfuls of m&m's before I even realized what I was doing. Oh well.

I managed to drink one and half quarts of water.

DAY TWO (so far)

So today I still have managed yet again to weigh myself to give me a starting point

I ate ONE pilsbury cinnamon roll. (I usually eat 3-5 so this was good) and a glass of V-8 fusion.

I walked 2 miles today in about 35 minutes.

I fell asleep knitting for 2 1/2 hours in the chair in the living room.

I've drank 1 quart of water so far.

I had HALF a subway club sandwich on parmesan oregano with a LITTLE BIT of lite mayonaise. (I justified the white bread and mayonaise by telling myself I usually eat a 12 inch sandwich, a bag of chips and a large root beer.)

I did eat about 12 m&m's but i'm pms'ing so it's allowed since chocolate is directly related to my ability to resist the urge to kill stupid people.

I may have to bring the rest of the bag to work tonight.
